City Ballet of Los Angeles presents Behind the Red Door on Friday evenings in October. Starting October 2nd and continuing on October 9th and 16th at 9:00pm at the Cicada Club.
This Sexy cabaret features twelve dancers of City Ballet of Los Angeles accompanied by the Ralph Gibson Atman Ensemble. Atman will perform the music of John Coltrane, featuring cuts from his Giant Steps recordings. The fabulous Ms. Sloan Robinson will hold court for the evening as the Master of Ceremonies.
This sultry cabaret, choreographed by Artistic Director Robyn Gardenhire, presents a unique merging of John Coltrane’s fast paced music of Giant Steps, with wild high kicks of point shoes flying across the room mixed with a dream-like vignette of dancers undressing to the music of Chopin. Behind the Red Door promises to be a feast for the eyes and ears.
