Ballet logs 700th show abroad

MILAN (Kyodo) The renowned Tokyo Ballet, founded in 1964, has put on its 700th overseas performance at La Scala theater in Milan, Italy, a record number staged by a Japanese troupe overseas. The Tokyo Ballet on Sunday performed "The Kabuki," an original piece by the late French choreographer Maurice Bejart. Its landmark stage performance involved about 70 dancers.
